Midi-Plus proceeds to the launching of Deep Sleep,

an new effective way to sleep

Montreal, June, 1998 - Created by a professional engineer with the help of a doctor in psychology who is a renowned expert in sleeping disorders, Deep Sleep has been made available to the citizens of the largest city in Quebec.

Based on extensive research on Delta waves, the soft electronic music of Deep Sleep seems a convincing answer to the problems encountered by millions of insomniacs. Resulting from clinical experimentation and trials, Deep Sleep has been available in Quebec City for a few months now, where it is already on its way to record sales.

Scientists discovered long ago that our brain emits waves. We also know that the various levels or states of consciousness (waking, sleeping, thinking, meditating, etc.) generate different types of waves. This knowledge was put to work to develop Deep Sleep. The modus operandi involves emitting specific waves that let the brain resonate to the basic frequencies typical of a particular state of consciousness. By generating the same types of waves (Delta waves) normally emitted during deep sleep phases, the brain synchronizes itself with this natural state (deep sleep).

Among the normal sleeping phases, we identify the following: light sleep, deep sleep, REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Only the deep sleep phase allows to really and truly regain energy. Deep Sleep makes it easier to attain this phase.

Deep Sleep does not include any subliminal messages. Listening must be in stereo. The more one listens to it, the more efficient it is!

Available on CD and cassette tape though experimentation has shown that, because of the greater quality of compact disks, results are better when using the CD format.

A natural way of sleeping and relaxing

No effort is required, no special equipment either. Deep Sleep can also be used to "decompress" after a stressing work day, quiet down turbulent kids, or simply enjoy some moments of peaceful, energy-recharging rest.

Midi-Plus, a firm from Quebec City, has been working in computer-generated music, sound engineering and software development since 1985. Marc Pouliot, the engineer who was in charge of the Deep Sleep project, has helped develop numerous software programs and concepts throughout his career. He worked for several large organizations including Bell-Northern Research, the Canadian Communications Research Center and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE). He was also a contractual for the Canadian Defense Research unit in Valcartier, QC. Furthermore, he has conducted extensive research in music, the humanization of computer-aided products, the effect of music on human behavior, etc...

Fascinated by the importance of music in our daily lives, he was involved in the development of various wave-generating techniques in the area of cerebral wave frequencies. Mr. Pouliot was himself both intrigued and skeptical at the outset. Now more than ever, he’s convinced of the effectiveness of his tools. Using a rigorous, professional approach, he has delivered a product that has helped tens of thousands of people to sleep soundly again. Other relaxation and stimulation products are on the drawing board.

News Release

Midi-Plus follows up with another creative product,

this time for those who experience concentration problems:

Focus & Positive Thinking

Montreal - Monday, November 23, 1998- Midi-Plus Consultants and author-composer/engineer Marc Pouliot have proceeded today to the release of the compact disk Concentration et Pensée Positive (Focus and Positive Thinking), which helps the listener to improve his/her concentration and motivation.

Let’s recall the success that Deep Sleep (from the same organization) has obtained so far. Released in the spring of 1998 in the City of Quebec (Canada), Deep Sleep, which addresses sleeping disorders through the use of soft music and Delta waves, has already sold 40,000 copies, a summit for an independent producer/distributor in this type of music.

The concept of Focus and Positive Thinking is based on the same principle. This time, though, Alpha and Beta waves are used to stimulate the brain. Resulting from studies on the Attention Deficiency Disorder (ADD), this musical product allows the user to be more intense in his/her efforts to focus on his/her cerebral activities (work, sports, etc…) without feeling a drain of energy. Research has demonstrated that these waves are more present in people with positive psychological profile while the same waves are less numerous in the case of those in depression. The tracks include basic Alpha waves. Specific Beta waves are added slowly, providing for a positive stimulation that is natural and progressive.

Cerebral waves are modified depending on the change of tones and time. At the end of each track, the exercise becomes more intense (higher tone) and the frequency repetition is also more intense (faster tempo). Repetition and regularity allow for better results.

Effortless and all natural! No sophisticated equipment required! Focus and Positive Thinking does not contain any subliminal messages. Using it is very simple: insert the compact disk and set it to "repeat" mode to listen as long as needed. Low volume will do the job as well as higher volume if so preferred. Listening must be in stereo with no "surround", "dolby", or other live effects.

Listening to Focus and Positive Thinking builds up positive thoughts and improves motivation and concentration. Using quietly Focus and Positive Thinking can stimulate surprising positive effects for unknowing listeners.
